Position Description: 

Under the general oversight of the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Civil Rights, and in coordination with the Staff Diversity and EEO Compliance Director, Title IX Director, and Discrimination Prevention Office Director, the incumbent is responsible for the investigation and resolution of complaints of sexual harassment, sexual violence, and discrimination and harassment based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, gender, gender expression, gender identity, gender transition status, pregnancy, physical or mental disability, medical condition (cancer-related or genetic characteristics), genetic information (including family medical history), ancestry, marital status, age, sexual orientation, citizenship, or service in the uniformed services, including protected veterans (brought by employees, students, patients or others) in the UCLA Health System and in the David Geffen School of Medicine ("DGSOM"). The incumbent will be located in the Civil Rights Office's Health Investigation Unit. The incumbent's job responsibilities will include: receiving reports and complaints; conducting initial assessment, intake and preliminary investigation; determining the appropriate process used in response to complaints (including alternative resolution and formal investigation); conducting prompt, equitable and impartial administrative investigations; making findings of fact and applying relevant policies in individual cases. The incumbent will draft and revise investigation reports. The incumbent will assist in maintaining database and records related to responses and investigations. The incumbent will assist in identifying, developing and integrating best practices and procedures into the complaint response and resolution process. The incumbent will also train UCLA Health System, and DGSOM, and UCLA employees and students regarding the interpretation of Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, the ADA, and the University's non- discrimination policies, as well as the University's obligations under these policies. The incumbent is a Campus Security Authority under the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and a Responsible Employee under the UC Policy on Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment and the UC Non Discrimination Policy.
