Promoting Research Integrity: Proposed Amendments to Public Health Service-Funded Research Misconduct Rules

On October 6, 2023, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Office of Research Integrity (ORI) issued a Notice of Proposed Rule Making (NPRM) to amend Public Health Service (PHS) policy. The NPRM represents the first significant revision of PHS’s Research Misconduct policy in nearly two decades and suggests that changes will be made to each of the five subparts within 42 C.F.R. Part 93.

Join us for a 30-minute, audio-only Briefing, in which NACUA member-experts William (Bill) Ferreira, Partner with Hogan Lovells, and Molly Markley, Associate General Counsel, Colorado School of Mines, will cover topics, including:

  • An overview of the goals of ORI’s Oct. 6, 2023, NPRM,
  • Anticipated updates to each of 42 C.F.R. Part 93’s five subparts, and
