Position Overview: The Senior Associate General Counsel (“SAGC”) serves as a lead member within the Office of General Counsel. Specifically, the SAGC provides legal advice and representation to the University with a critical focus on highly complex and sensitive matters in the areas of labor and employment. The SAGC also provides advice and performs duties consistent with the full array of legal issues arising in the context of higher education.

Experience: The successful candidate will have at least six years of law practice experience with deep expertise in labor and employment law. Candidates with experience in higher education law and 10+ years of practice experience are strongly preferred.

Location: Manhattan, KS. A relocation package will be provided as needed. 

In-Office Attendance: This role requires an on-campus presence at regular intervals. Exceptionally qualified remote candidates may be considered.

Compensation: Competitive salary and excellent benefits.

Bar: Admission in good standing to the Kansas Bar or membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction with ability to become licensed in Kansas within twelve months of hire.
