Natalie Sinicrope, J.D., Deputy CEO & Executive Director 

Nat Sinicrope

Natalie Sinicrope (she/her/hers), Deputy CEO & Executive Director joined NACUA in 2022.  In her role, Nat provides leadership in the development and implementation of NACUA legal resources - both written and programmatic and supports collaborative efforts between NACUA members and external partners in furtherance of the mission.  Additionally, Nat supports the President & CEO with strategic leadership, governance, organizational effectiveness, member experience and advancement of NACUA’s mission and values, including diversity, equity, inclusivity and belonging. 

Nat is passionate about modeling and promoting inclusive excellence and underscores the value of diversity as a driver of growth and success. Through value-based decision-making, Nat and the team partners with the NACUA Board, members and external stakeholders to ensure that our work is representative of, and promotes perspectives and lived experiences that are traditionally underrepresented.

Nat has over twenty years’ experience effectively leading teams and has practiced law for the last 15 years. Prior to joining the NACUA team, Nat was the General Counsel of Gallaudet University in Washington D.C.  As a former chief legal officer of a highly dynamic and innovative institution, Nat brings the unique perspective and understanding of the legal and business challenges that higher education faces in today’s world. Nat was a litigator in private practice at Hogan Lovells LLP, where she represented a variety of clients, including higher education institutions, and before that an investigator in the Civil Rights Division at the United States Department of Justice. She is a graduate of American University, with a B.A. in Political Science, and an M.A. in International Peace & Conflict Resolution.  She received her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. She lives in Washington, DC with her husband, three children and two dogs, and leans into beach-life whenever possible.
