The National Association of College and University Attorneys Receives 2025 Power of Associations Gold Award for its Transition Updates: First 100 Days Program

July 22, 2025

WASHINGTON, DC. The National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA) has been recognized as a Power of Associations Gold Award by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) for its Transition Updates: First 100 Days program.

The Transition Updates: First 100 Days program was launched in January 2025 in response to the legal and regulatory changes that began to be implemented with the start of President Donald Trump’s second term. The program is comprised of formal virtual programming featuring member subject-matter experts and member-to-member pop-up discussions, as well as a comprehensive resource library covering all the latest executive orders, regulatory guidance, and tracking tools.

During the duration of the program, 52.5% of NACUA’s entire membership registered for at least one of the fifteen Transition Updates programs, and 41% of members accessed transition-related resources on our website. During an uncertain and perilous time for higher education, the Transition Updates program provided guidance and information for those who practice higher education law.

“Showing up for our members with useful, timely resources is always important but in this unusual time, that’s especially true. We are honored to receive this award, and I am incredibly proud of the work of the NACUA staff in bringing this program together for the membership,” said Ona Alston Dosunmu, President & CEO of NACUA.

“Congratulations to NACUA for exemplifying the impact associations have on the industries and professions they represent, and on society at large,” said ASAE President and CEO Michelle Mason, FASAE, CAE. “It’s always so incredibly satisfying to see associations going above and beyond their everyday mission to change the world. We’re very proud to spotlight this award-winning initiative.”
