Who Should Attend?

This program is open only to NACUA members serving as the in-house Chief Legal Officer/General Counsel and/or the Deputy General Counsel of a higher education institution. Attorneys in state Attorneys General Offices who function as institutional general counsel or who are designated as a primary representative of a member institution are also eligible to attend. Outside counsel, even if designated as prime reps, are not eligible to attend. 

How to Register

If you are the General Counsel or Deputy General Counsel of a NACUA member institution you may register online using your NACUA username and password:

  • To pay with Visa, MasterCard or American Express, please select “Credit Card” as payment option.
  • To pay by check, please select “Bill Me” as payment option. Print a copy of the invoice and mail to NACUA with payment.

Materials

Get everything you need for the General Counsel Institute online! With our easy to use web-based technology, participants can download materials in real time and take notes directly onto downloaded pages. Materials and PowerPoints received prior to the institute will be made available online before the event so that you can print what you need in advance. Please note that we do not distribute hard copy binders on site. Hard copy binders are available for purchase for $129 and will be shipped 4-6 weeks after the 2019 General Counsel Institute. 

Detailed information regarding how to access conference materials will be sent to registrants. NACUA staff will be onsite to offer assistance. If you have any questions regarding materials, please contact the NACUA office at 202-833-8390. 

1Receipt Date
Advance registration for the 2019 General Counsel Institute will close on January 30, 2019. If after January 30, 2019 you would like to register for the Institute, NACUA will process your registration on site. Please bring a copy of the registration form to the registration desk at the Intercontinental New Orleans. For questions or to request a member registration form please contact Simone Perry, sperry@nacua.org. On-site registrants will be charged the regular registration rate.

2What is included in my registration fee?
Your registration fee includes: Entrance to all sessions, CLE credit fee, continental breakfasts, coffee breaks, luncheon, reception, and pre- and post-event online access to materials.

3Cancellation Policy
Cancellation requests must be submitted through the online request form on or before February 5, 2019. No refunds will be granted for requests submitted after February 5, 2019.

A refund of all fees, minus a $75 administrative fee, will be given for cancellations received on or before January 30, 2019. Requests for cancellations received between January 30, 2019 and February 5, 2019 will be granted a full refund minus the $75 administrative fee and a $220 food and beverage fee.  As of mid-January, NACUA had to guarantee all food and beverage expenses for all registered attendees.

NACUA regrets that refunds will not be given for no-shows.  All approved refunds will be granted after the 2019 General Counsel Institute. 

NOTE: The cancellation policy applies to all registrants for the 2019 General Counsel Institute regardless of payment method. Attendees with unpaid invoices cancelled under this policy are still responsible for payment of the administrative and food and beverage fees.

4Photography
A professional photographer may be on site to document the meeting event and activities. Photographs and video footage are the sole property of NACUA. By registering for and/or attending this event, attendees understand that NACUA may use their likenesses for promotional purposes. If you do not wish to be photographed, please notify the photographer on site.
