Legal Reference Service

NACUA's Legal Reference Service provides service to members in two distinct ways. First, via the NACUA web page and the weekly Higher Education Case Highlights email newsletter, the LRS delivers current information on legal developments of interest to members. Second, the LRS actively collects information on higher education law from members and other sources and serves as a depository and clearinghouse for legal information collected over the years. Examples of information available from LRS include policies and agreements, NACUA conference and workshop outlines, Journal of College and University Law and other articles, and numerous other resources. All resources are searchable on-line, or members may choose to have the LRS staff conduct a search for them. The LRS does not provide, nor is it intended as a substitute for, legal advice, but it is a useful resource when researching higher education legal issues. The LRS employs two regular staff members and two law clerks. The LRS is happy to respond to individual member requests for information. Consult the LRS FAQ Page for more details about this service.
