The University of Kansas invites applications for the position of Export Compliance Officer. The Export Compliance Officer ensures that activities on all University of Kansas campuses, including Lawrence, Edwards, Kansas City, Hutchinson, Wichita, and Salina campuses comply with the various U.S. export control regulations, including those administered by the Department of Commerce (Export Administration Regulations), the Department of State (International Traffic in Arms Regulations), and the Department of the Treasury (individual country sanctions and embargo regulations administered by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC)).The Director of Export Compliance will maintain office operations at the Lawrence campus and on the KUMC Kansas City campus. The Export Compliance Officer position reports to the Director of Security within the Office of the Chancellor. The Export Compliance Officer must have a Bachelor’s degree, three years export licensing and compliance experience in interpretation of export control regulations and classification and licensing determinations regarding controlled items and technologies, eligibility and ability to receive and maintain a minimum of a U.S. government Secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship required), and demonstrated ability to establish positive working relationships regarding compliance with all levels of organizational personnel. J.D. or master’s degree. Annual salary commensurate with education, training, and experience.
