Assistant Director

The Equal Opportunity Office (EOO) at the University of Georgia (UGA) is seeking an Assistant Director.  The Equal Opportunity Office houses the Title IX Coordinator and the ADA/504 Coordinator and work toward UGA’s commitment to ensure a fair and respectful environment for living, work, and study.  The EOO is responsible for receiving, evaluating and investigating allegations of discrimination and harassment under federal and state civil rights civil rights laws, including Title IX, as well as UGA and University System of Georgia relevant policies.  The office is also responsible for training on these laws, regulations and policies.

Position Description

Under the direction of the Director, the Investigator will conduct investigations of complaints of discrimination and harassment; prepare reports regarding investigation findings; develop and conduct training for faculty, staff, and students on recognizing, reporting and preventing unlawful harassment, discrimination and retaliation. Assist in drafting and enforcing University policies as required.


Juris Doctorate is required.
Member in good standing of the State Bar of GA and a minimum of three or more years of legal experience.
Experience investigating claims of unlawful discrimination and harassment.
Higher education experience.
Experience in investigating student sexual misconduct cases.
Knowledge of Title IX coordination and OCR practices and procedures.
Knowledge of Civil Rights laws and regulations.


Conduct investigation of complaints of discrimination and harassment with the UGA community.

Receive and evaluate complaints of discrimination and harassment with the UGA community.

Develop and conduct training on the policies and procedures under the purview of the EOO.

Serve as support to Director in operational matters of the EOO as they relate to oversight of the Non-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment (NDAH) Policy and Student Sexual Misconduct Policy (SSMP).

Respond to questions from members of the UGA community and others on a wide variety of issues relating to matters within the purview of the UGA EOO.

Assist in collection and analysis of statistics relevant to matters within the purview of the EOO. Assist in the preparation and maintenance of necessary records and reports.
