Spotlight on Graduate Students: Affordable Care Act, Intellectual Property, and Unionization

This webinar will explore unique issues and considerations related to graduate students on campus, focusing on three evolving areas: intellectual property ownership, health insurance, and union organizing. For each topic, presenters will briefly review the current legal landscape followed by a discussion of developments, trends, considerations and practical tips to help attendees address questions that may arise on their campuses, including:

  • Intellectual Property Generated by Graduate Students – Who owns the rights and what policies can or should institutions adopt?
  • Health Insurance – Affordable Care Act – Strategies to help institutions comply with the ACA and provide coverage for graduate students.
  • Unionization – Building healthy relationships as an alternative to unionization and responding if efforts have begun.

This webinar is designed for college and university attorneys and those who advise those working with graduate students.  This may include academic and graduate school administrators, human resources professionals, university technology managers and others who handle college and university intellectual property as well as those who oversee student health insurance programs.
