NACUA Membership Affirmation Statements
WHEREAS, the Committee on Membership and Member Services has recommended that the current Affirmation Statements be revised, be it THEREFORE RESOLVED that the following Affirmation Statements, be and they hereby are approved:
Associate Individual Member Affirmation Statement
As an Associate Individual Member of the National Association of College and University
Attorneys, I affirm the following statements:
1. I do not qualify for membership as the Primary Representative or an Additional
Representative of a Member Institution or Associate Member Institution.
2. I do not represent claimants against any Member Institutions or represent parties
concerning interests adverse to any Member Institutions (unless such claimants are other
Member Institutions).
3. I understand that I have a continuing duty to disclose to NACUA any deviation from the
membership criteria set out in the Bylaws and/or Membership Policy Statements of the
Association that now exist or may arise during my membership.
4. I understand that any misrepresentation of the above statements may result in my
disqualification and/or the termination of my membership.
Primary Representative Affirmation Statement (Associate Member Institutions)
I affirm, on behalf of the institution or organization I represent, that it meets the
eligibility requirements as stated in the Bylaws and Membership Policy Statement of NACUA.
As the primary representative for this institution or organization, I acknowledge that the
addition or deletion of additional attorney representatives to this membership roster is
my responsibility. I also affirm, on behalf of myself and the individuals listed above,
the following statements:
1. Neither I nor any of the additional representatives listed above represent claimants
against any Member Institutions or represent parties concerning interests adverse to any
Member Institutions (unless such claimants are other Member Institutions).
2. I understand that I have a continuing duty to disclose to NACUA any deviation from the
membership criteria for myself, the additional representatives listed above, and my
institution or organization, as set out in the Bylaws and/or Membership Policy Statements
of the Association that now exist or may arise during my representation of this
institution or organization.
3. I understand that any misrepresentation of the above statements may result in my
disqualification and/or the termination of my membership.
Primary Representative Affirmation Statement (Member Institution)
As the primary representative for this institution, I acknowledge that the addition or
deletion of additional attorney representatives to this membership is my responsibility. I
affirm, on behalf of myself and the individuals listed above, the following statements:
1. I and all additional representatives listed above are regularly engaged to handle the
legal affairs of the institution listed above on this application.
2. Neither I nor any of the additional representatives listed above represent claimants
against any Member Institutions or represent parties concerning interests adverse to any
Member Institutions (unless such claimants are other Member Institutions).
3. I understand that I have a continuing duty to disclose to NACUA any deviation from the
membership criteria for myself, the additional representatives listed above, and my
institution, as set out in the Bylaws and/or Membership Policy Statements of the
Association that now exist or may arise during my representation of this institution.
4. I understand that any misrepresentation of the above statements may result in
mydisqualification and/or the termination of my membership.
