Featured Speakers Jennifer E. Kirkland (moderator) Martha Hartle Munsch is partner at Reed Smith LLP, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (University of Pittsburgh). Ms. Munsch obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh and her law degree from the Yale Law School, where she was a member of The Yale Law Journal. Following her graduation from Yale, Ms. Munsch practiced law at Reed Smith until joining the full-time faculty of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1976. Ms. Munsch rejoined Reed Smith in 1978 where she has been practicing employment law for management clients ever since, including many colleges and universities Wendy Tarlow is an Associate University Counsel at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. A graduate of William Smith College and Cornell Law School, Ms. Tarlow advises University clients on a wide variety of employment matters, and defends Cornell's interests in adminstrative and court litigation. She was actively involved in counseling the University administration last year during the U.A.W.'s unsuccessful campaign to organize and represent Cornell graduate students. D. Frank Vinik is Risk Manager for Educators Legal Liability at United Educators Insurance. Before joining United Educators, he practiced employment and education law at a large firm and worked in university administration. Frank serves on numerous NACUA committees including the Board of Editors of the Journal of College and University law. In 2003,he authored "Ten Lessons Learned from Layoffs at Educational Institutions." Frank holds a B.A. from U.C. Berkeley and a J.D. from the University of Virginia.
