Only 1/20th of the 21st Century
has elapsed, but already new issues have moved to forefront of higher education employment
law. From background checks to issues of gender identity to policies on employee
misconduct reporting, college and university lawyers are continually facing new legal
challenges driven by societal changes and accelerating developments in the law. NACUA's
Spring 2005 CLE workshop "The Challenge of Change: College and University Employment
Law in the New Millennium" will examine the key issues facing today's higher
education employment lawyer. Workshop tracks include:

Emerging Issues in Higher Education Employment Law
Higher Education Labor Relations
Designed for experienced college and university employment
lawyers and others on campus with significant employment law and human resources
responsibilities, the workshop will include 15 regular sessions.

Implementing Effective Whistleblower and Misconduct Reporting Policies
In addition the workshop will feature 10 Small Discussion Groups, covering topics such as
FLSA and FMLA Issues, the Academic Bill of Rights, Presidents and Other Highly Compensated
Employees, Tenured Faculty Issues, and Foreign National/Alien Employees.
