Honors and Awards Ceremony — 4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

All attendees and their guest(s) are invited to join us in celebrating and recognizing the recipients of this year’s honors and awards. This ceremony will include recognition of individuals who will receive the Distinguished Service, Fellow, and First Decade Awards as well as Life Memberships (if applicable).

Opening Reception sponsored by Hogan Lovells US LLP — 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Celebrate the official opening of the 50th Annual Conference! It’s your chance to meet, greet, mingle, and network with new and old friends and colleagues on the first evening of the conference. So be sure to start your conference experience off right by attending this annual tradition. This event is free to all paid attendees; $30 for adult guests, $10 for children (6-12), free for children 5 and under.

50th Anniversary Night of Celebration Featuring a Motown Tribute and Jazz Concert

Join us in celebrating NACUA’s 50th Anniversary with a tribute to Motown as narrated by member David Williams II, Vice Chancellor for University Affairs and General Counsel of Vanderbilt University. Get ready to take a trip down memory lane with NACUA and the Temptations, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, the Supremes, the Jackson 5, and many more. Make sure you tell a colleague that this is the event to attend because you "heard it through the grapevine." So, bring your dancing shoes and get ready to groove because this will be an event to remember.

Please remember to arrive prior to 7:30 pm (doors open at 7:00 pm!), as you will not want to miss the opening remarks about the beginnings of Motown, an important part of Mr. Williams's performance. So come early for a complimentary glass of wine or beer, and secure one of the best seats in the house!

As part of our efforts to celebrate NACUA’s 50th Anniversary we invite you to join us during this intermission to celebrate the Association as it "Looks Back and Reaches Forward."

Jazz, Etc. Concert9:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.

As we continue the celebration into the evening, please join us as the dynamic duo of NACUA member Jennifer Kirkland, Associate General Counsel of Washington and Lee University, and her guitarist Bert Carlson, bring you a concert of eclectic jazz and other American popular music. If you like jazz, don't miss this!!! If you think you don't like jazz, DON'T miss this!!! Jennifer's voice has been described as a blend of the best sounds of Diana Krall, Norah Jones, Julie London, Peggy Lee, and Rosemary Clooney and Bert is a guitar wizard who has performed all over the country playing jazz, rock, blues, and bluegrass. Jennifer and Bert have a warm, conversational style to their concerts and their repertoire includes everything from Benny Goodman to the Blues to the Beatles! Grab a friend or colleague, order a drink, pull up a chair, sit back, relax and enjoy. Leadership and Membership Recognition Breakfast8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.

All attendees are invited to join their colleagues for breakfast and to celebrate the Association’s leadership and member volunteers. The program will include:

• Remarks from outgoing President Derek Langhauser (Maine Community College System)
• Remarks from incoming President Marianne Schimelfenig (Saint Joseph’s University)
• Results of Nominations and Elections
• Recognition of NACUA’s 2009-2010 member volunteers and retirees
• A special tribute to all Past Presidents of NACUA

This event is also your chance to win a complimentary 2011 Annual Conference registration!* All NACUA member conference attendees will be entered into a drawing for their institution to receive a complimentary registration to the 2011 Annual Conference in San Francisco, CA.
*Attendees must be present at the breakfast to be eligible to win the complimentary registration.

Networking Luncheon and Affinity Group Luncheons12:15 p.m. – 1:45 p.m.

This is your chance to continue to network with colleagues over lunch. You may also participate in Affinity Group luncheons for those with a commonality of regional, institutional, or personal interests. A list of Affinity Groups will be posted in late April.
