The Higher Education Opportunity Act, passed by Congress and signed into law by the President in August, contains an extraordinary number of new reporting and disclosure requirements for colleges and universities participating in federal student financial aid programs. Many provisions of the Act were effective immediately upon enactment, and while guidance on compliance is expected from the Department of Education, institutions must begin coming to grips with the wide array of new requirements imposed upon them, the information that will need to be gathered in order to be ready for compliance, and where responsibility for compliance for each reporting and disclosure requirement will reside within the institution.
This program will highlight the key new reporting requirements and conclude with a discussion of anticipated Department of Education implementation and guidance concerning the new requirements and how institutions can plan for compliance. The panel features experienced NACUA members and practitioners who have carefully studied the content and requirements of this important legislation as it has moved through the Congress over the past several years. Please join them for an in-depth orientation to the new reporting and disclosure requirements contained in the Act and their impact on your institution.
Note: Except for discussion of certain new Code of Conduct requirements, the program will not address the numerous new reporting and disclosure requirements directly related to student loans.
