NACUA Fall 2007 Workshop
Law and Electrons: Computers, Copyright, Telecommunications, Privacy and Security on Campus

The number and power of computers on campus, combined with constantly expanding internet capacity and campus computer users willing to press the boundaries of appropriate use (or cross them entirely), continues to generate both familiar and new legal issues. Designed for college and university attorneys and administrators with responsibilty for information technology, this two-day workshop covers legal issues that arise at the intersection of computers and  internet with legal obligations relating to privacy, security, and intellectual property. The program begins with a session covering recent developments in digital copyright and trademark law, and includes separate tracks on copyright and intellectual property issues as well as contracting  and information technology law.

The workshop also includes two sets of small discussion groups that offer participants a candid exchange of  viewpoints on targeted issues. To see a detailed workshop schedule, click here. Presented by NACUA in cooperation with EDUCAUSE, and featuring experienced lawyers and experts in the fields of computer, internet, intellectual property and information technology law, this comprehensive program will keep you current in this rapidly changing field. Please join your colleagues in Washington DC for this opportunity for professional education, networking and discussion.
